    • The Magisk Zip file provided in this article, is served directly from GitHub where the develper has hosted it. So, I am pretty sure that the issue is NOT with the zip file. Could you eloborate on what you are trying to do and in which step you are facing the issue? I’d be happy to help!

  3. Hello
I have Mate9 9.1.0.252 (C432E7R1P8patch03), I have installed Magisk 20.1 via patching recovery image and after that I couldn’t enter SMS application. App just crashes. After re-flashing the original recovery image, SMS application works well.

    Please fix this asap šŸ™‚

  4. I hope someone can advise me which version of Magisk and Magisk manager to install on my OP3 as I can not get it to work anymore after an update after trying multiple Magisk versions. (my phone specs. OP A3003_16_191104, OxyOS 9.0.6, 6GB RAM+ 64GB ROM)

So what did I do so far… I started with a dirty flash of latest OTA (OnePluse3Oxygen_16_OTA_086_all_1911042118) which was successful. (i.e. I still have all my original apps and settings). Then I re-installed twrp (3.3.1-1) successfully via adb fastboot. The install of magisk 20.1 zip via twrp initially also seemed to work. Then when I rebooted from twrp (tried with and without cache cleared) it kept rebooting to twrp recovery. I then started the entire update process from the start with Magisk 18.1. That seemed to work better (i.e. it allowed me to reboot to the system rather than being stuck in a loop to twrp recovery) but the Magisk app (v7.4) when opened after boot then insists that magisk is not installed and that I should update to v20.1. When I use the app v7.4 to update to v20.1 the app hangs on the Magisk logo and remains unresponsive. I have then tried several alternative versions of the magisk app 7.3.0 and 7.3.3 in combination with magisk v18.1, v19.4 and v20.1. Non so far have resulted in a working Magisk setup on my phone. I assume now it must be a combination of the Magisk app versions that is causing the problems on my OP3. I made a nandroid backup so I can recover to a working version but I would appreciate some advice to get Magisk working on my updated phone. Thanks

    • An update on the issues I had described above. The Magisk 20.2 zip version seemed to resolve the above issues. Unfortunately I then discovered that some apps e.g. duckduckgo, gmail, MS-Outlook and others immediately crash after opening them. (note: not all apps crash firefox is ok) When removing Magisk from my phone the apps work normally again without crashing. re-installing the apps, clearing cash, forced stooping the apps doesnot resolve the issue. Any ideas what could be the problem?

      • okay, in case anyone runs into a similar issue… I have found out what triggered my apps to crash after the Magisk 20.3 install. In my case de Magisk ‘debloat’ module I installed was set (by me) to remove ‘gmail’ and ‘chrome’ from the system apps. After the OTA update this seems to make some of my apps crash. When I used ‘debloat’ to re-install both system apps the apps no longer crashed.
